The Russell Animal Hospital offers boarding for your pet(s) for the day or for an extended time. Reservations are required so please call ahead to insure availability.

Pet Boarding Requirements

To make your pet’s stay with us happy and healthy we do have some requirements for their well-being.

• Dogs are required to have current distemper/parvo vaccine, a current kennel cough vaccine (Bordatetella) and a current rabies vaccine
• Cats are required to have a current distemper vaccine and a current rabies vaccine
• All pets should be free of external and internal parasites. Should your pet be found to have external or internal parasites we will treat as medically appropriate at the owner’s expense.
• A contact person and telephone number is required in the event of an emergency.
• If your pet needs medication while staying with us, the medication must be in the original container with instructions. There is an additional medication administration fee.
• We provide a high quality diet for your pet. If your pet has special dietary needs or should you wish to provide your own food we request that only the amount needed for their stay be brought with them. The food should be packaged in individual serving sizes with a label that has your pet’s name and the name of food on it.
• Nyla bones and plastic Kongs are the safest toys to leave with your canine pet.
• We have a large supply of cage blankets for your pet’s comfort
• Dogs are bathed at our discretion before discharge.

Admission and Discharge

Pets can be dropped off for boarding during our normal hospital hours, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM.

Pet pick-up is Monday through Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM.

In the event your plans change and you won’t be picking up your pet on the pre-arranged day or time we ask that you please call to inform us of your plans.
